ECO VISION
Thermaltake's Eco-Vision management plan has identified four environmental
crises: global warming, limited natural resources, impact of hazardous
substances, and the loss of Earth's biodiversity. Global warming is the
consequence caused by greenhouse gas which will raise the temperature of the
earth's surface by absorbing infrared radiation from reflected sunlight.
The rapid consumption of nature resources by human has caused the serious
imbalance of natural world and will destroy the entire ecosystem. Also, many
researchers have proved that the hazardous chemical substances contained in
the electronic components are harmful to people and the environment.
Finally, it is very important to maintain the Earth's biodiversity through
protecting the ecosystems that make up the forests, oceans, and the
wildlife. It is everyone's responsibility to be a part of the environmental
protection plan, and leave a clean earth to the future generations.
Thermaltake Technology recognizes the importance of protecting our natural
environment that sustains life on earth for all the future generations. To
help humanity attain the dream of a healthier and happier life, Thermaltake
is committed to incorporate environmental technology into all our new
product design. In accordance with our global environment strategy and
commitment, Thermaltake is engaged in an environmental management plan
called Eco-Vision to contribute to preserve the environment and protect
human health.
ECO FRIENDLY MARK
Since environmental protection is the most crucial issue that the world
encounters, Thermaltake introduced the Eco-Friendly Mark as a symbol
communicating the corporate stance on environmental protection and
activities. As the Eco-Friendly Mark shows, we place a heart beside the
Earth to imply that Thermaltake gives environment the full consideration and
all our products are dedicated to the future of our planet.
An ECO-Friendly Thermaltake
As a model corporate citizen, Thermaltake is proud of our global efforts in
helping to preserve the environment. All Thermaltake's extensive ranges of
products are compliant with the international environment regulations such
as RoHS directive, WEEE, 80Plus, etc.
RoHS stands for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive which was
adopted in February 2003 by the European Union (EU). This directive
restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacturing processes
of electronic and electrical products. Thermaltake, in accordance with the
RoHS directive, has banished the use of all the hazardous materials.
Besides, all Thermaltake's quality products also comply with the Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE). WEEE Directive
requires recycling of electronic and electrical products throughout the
European Union, and manufacturers pay for all the costs of collection,
transportation, and recycling.
At the same time, majority of Thermaltake high performance power supply
units have been certified by 80 PLUS Energy Efficiency Program whose mission
is to integrate energy-efficient power supplies into desktop computers and
servers.
A computer with an 80 PLUS certified power supply installed inside will use
around 15 percent to 25 percent less electricity than other computer.
Thermaltake's 80 PLUS certified power supplies ranges from the basic 300W to
the extreme 1200W. Thermaltake is committed to provide users with the widest
range of eco-friendly power supply units that are all energy-efficient and
80Plus compliant.
Thermaltake accepts its continuing responsibility for the environment and to
society as a whole. We realize the importance of global environment issues
and are committed to actively participating in social activities. Besides,
we also strive to raise employee awareness of environment both in work and
life in the community through a continuing program of employee environmental
education. Thermaltake takes its role seriously by being an eco-friendly
asset to all communities in the world.
ECO-Friendly Design
Since environmental protection is the most crucial issue that the world encounters,
Thermaltake introduced the Eco-Friendly Mark as a symbol communicating the corporate
stance on environmental protection and activities. As the Eco-Friendly Mark shows,
we place a heart beside the Earth to imply that Thermaltake gives environment the
full consideration and all our products are dedicated to the future of our planet.
Thermaltake aims to develop its products that make contributions to preserving the environment. In this way, all Thermaltake's product designers are advised to take the Eco-Friendly Design guidelines into account when developing new products. Eco-Friendly Design is an engineering perspective in which at least one of the four eco-friendly design priorities (shown below) is considered and optimized.
Energy Saving (80 Plus)
Thermaltake's product designers are advised to reduce the energy consumption needed to use our products. Currently many of Thermaltake high performance power supply units have been certified by 80 PLUS Energy Efficiency Program for their excellent ability to energy saving. Thermaltake will continue to enhance the efficiency for our power supply units and also reduce the energy consumption needed to power our PSUs.
Green Material (RoHS)
Thermaltake's product designers are advised to reduce or substitute the use of hazardous substances. We maintain strict control over the chemical substances used, and take steps whenever possible to avoid the use of hazardous substances. Currently all Thermaltake products are made from green materials and all RoHS compliant.
Extremely Quiet (QFan)
Thermaltake's product designers are advised to reduce the noise generated by our products. Researches have shown that noise can be annoying and even harmful to human health. To protect human health, many of Thermaltake superior performance coolers are silent and extremely quiet. Some specific PSUs even come with the patented QFan technology which minimizes the noise to the lowest level.
Recyclable (WEEE)
Thermaltake's product designers are advised to incorporate recyclable materials into all the new products whenever possible. All Thermaltake products comply with WEEE which requires recycling of electronic and electrical products and, especially, most of the metal materials used in Thermaltake chassis are recyclable.
